Jet packs in the Star Wars Old Republic were used by many a bounty hunter to gain tactical advantages over their prey. They come in many shapes and styles. A common example is the one used by the famous Boba Fett later on in the Star Wars timeline, when compared to the Old Republic setting. It is confirmed by the 20 minute demo footage that bounty hunters will have access to these in SWTOR.
