[edit] Overview

We are a general purpose gaming group. We have no allegiance to any particular game, though all of us are anxiously awaiting TOR, which is why we are establishing a presence in the community. We're looking for people who are eclectic in their gaming habits, as we are.

[edit] History

The Sundown Saints began as New Dawn, a Planetside outfit, back in 2002. Most of the current core group began as mere recruits, though things were shaken up as the leadership began to fail and personal lives affected managerial responsibilities. A majority of the group voted to restructure, and the people that now make up the Sundown Saints were voted into head positions. In the Planetside beta and early into release we made a name for ourselves on our native server (Emerald), serving under the New Conglomerate. We outperformed many of the head outfits on our server, though the novelty of a massive online FPS wore off fairly quickly when we realized that pretty much all of our effort could be erased over night. Our numbers began to dwindle without any real interest in Planetside, and a crack formed in the middle of us.

One side began to take interest in Star Wars: Galaxies, and the other did not. For a good while neither side spoke, as New Dawn on Bloodfin grew to be one of the largest guilds on the server. We boasted the largest city on Naboo as well, though it did not last long. As with any large organization, the foundation that it is built on should be strong. Ours was not. Leadership squabbles and general anger towards SOE and their refusal to listen to the community ended up splintering the behemoth once again. Those of us that disagreed with the guild's direction left and rejoined with our original group, though we were not united under any particular game, though a little speck in the distance began to materialize.

World of Warcraft was our next venture, and many of us were active in the community before the game even hit beta. We took on a more fitting moniker, The Gideon Covenant, and played under the Alliance for quite some time. As is typical of our history, we decided to split once again after WoW's release to form a casual guild and a raiding guild. The raid guild adopted our original name, New Dawn, and stayed very active on our home server. As far as we know, it still is, though no original member is still a part of it.

Looking back on our history, there have been many rough patches, and near death experiences for our group, but we feel as though there is one aspect about the Saints that keeps us going even through the hardest times. We don't see ourselves as a clan, or guild, or organization really. We feel like a family, but don't let that deter you from wanting to play with us. We're open to everyone, but not everyone is a good fit for our group. Our recruitment process is extensive, as we don't let just anyone call themselves a Saint. If you're looking for good people to game with, look no further.
